A New Meditation on AL-FATIHA

AL-FATIHA means the Opening, the Key that Opens. It is the Opening Chapter of the Final Revelation to Humanity.

What follows is a short meditation on the 7 Signs of the Chapter. They can be utilized, if the reader wills, to meditate upon as these 7 Signs each are infused with inspirations, guidance and wisdom.

Literally means: In the Name of God, the Universally Merciful, Exclusively Compassionate

Meditation: This is the Meditation of ALPHA reality (and by extension OMEGA), the Meditation upon the reality that ALL are from God. God Who is Universally Merciful, Who is Exclusively Loving and Compassionate. May every thought we engage in, all things we do, every action we take,  be infused by God's Name and by God's Merciful and Compassionate quality which flows through us, as we being God's image, God's vicegerent on earth, God's visible secret on earth.

This Meditation tells me: I am also a Name of God's Infinite Names. My soul is from God and hence my soul has God's breath infused.

This Meditation tells me: May all aspects of my life have God as its purpose, as its motivation, as its intention. May the Name of God be stamped upon all that I do and intend to do.

Literally means: All praise and thanksgiving is for the Lord of the universe.

Meditation: This is the Meditation on being Grateful. Psychologically grateful state is the most powerful state in which a human being can stay in and vibrate at the highest frequency and hence being most receptive to Divine blessings and abundance of happiness, emotional balance and goodness. If we truly valued our existence, every fiber of our being should be grateful for this precious existence. If we can truly glimpse at the magnificent creation, we have no other choice but to praise and glorify the One Lord Who is the Lord of the universe. This is also the Meditation to realize Oneness of God, Oneness of Creator Lord of the universe Who is One for all creation.

Divisions in the name of religion, creed, denomination vanishes. One planet, one humanity, one human family, one Creator, one Truth.

This is the meditation of practicing unconditional gratefulness, unconditional grateful state. A practice that may need an entire life-time to perfect, or by the amazing grace of God, only a moment that holds the potentiality to make the state permanent in our heart. A conscious and awakened human being who has awakened to himself, herself - for him or her, the highest action is to praise the Reality and to be unconditionally grateful for all that is. Grateful for the soul that is our core as well as singing the praise for the Soul of the Universe.

This Meditation tells me: I am thankful for everything in my life, I am grateful for all the experiences this God-gifted life has unfolded to me so far. May I be included and accepted among those who are among the grateful servants of God.

The key here is to be UNCONDITIONALLY grateful. Just like perfect love is unconditional, such lofty is this station of gratefulness, for both are issued from the same heart.

O Lover, if you have ever loved
now is the time to taste the bliss
of unconditional grateful state
             of your magnificent being.

Literally means: The Universally Merciful, the Exclusively Compassionate.

Meditation: Then we remember the Most Encompassing Quality of the Universal Soul, that is Embracing Mercy, Exclusive Love for each sentient being, for each atom of creation, for each human soul. This is the Meditation to the reality that the highest embodiment of our earthly life is the expression of that very embracing compassion, kindness, mercy and love which is both universal as well as singular and exclusive for all sentient being, without exception, without discrimination.

This Meditation tells me: May I be kind to everyone I meet, may I be a vessel of God's compassion and mercy. May I become the very attribute of God, which is Compassionate and Loving to all.

Literally means: Master of the Day of Recompense.

Meditation: This is the Meditation of being responsible human being, taking full responsibility of our life, of our thoughts, of our decisions, of our actions, of every transactions in life. This is remembering the Sovereign Lord Who is the Master of the Day of Judgement, the Moment of ultimate responsibility sharing for each soul born into the world.

This Meditation tell us: we must act with responsibility no matter what we do, what role we play or where God placed us here in our earthly life. This is the Meditation on Karma, Meditation on understanding the reality that each thoughts and action has a consequence and all shall be paid back by the uncompromising reflective nature of the Reality at the Appointed Day of Meeting. All soul must meet God nakedly on that Day to be recompensed for what it has earned, and only Justice will be done.

This Meditation tells me: May I become fully responsible as vicegerent of God, as image of God, as co-creator of my reality, my life.

Literally means: Only You do we worship, only Your help we seek.

Meditation: This is the Meditation of Complete Trust and Dependency on God and the practice of less and less dependency on creation. This is the Meditation that teaches us to be able to See only God and nothing else. Only God do we serve and only God do we rely upon for help.

This is a meditation on Certainty and intense Faith (tawakkul). This is the meditation of both fana and baqa, annihilation and subsisting in God and God alone.

This meditation tells me: May I never turn to anything, anyone other than God. I am an honored expression of God and hence I must not worship, adore or serve none but God. I am ever dependent on God, and hence as I seek help, I must seek help to God and to no other.

Literally means: Guide us on the ascending path.

Meditation: This is the Meditation of seeking constant guidance in our journey in life. Divine Guidance always and forever we need as long as we are breathing, living, walking upon this earth. Even on our last breath, we seek the same for the ascension of our soul.

This is the Meditation of our Life's Journey. Aligning myself to Divine Guidance as long as we live in time dimension, ie. our life and mankind is ever in loss - for everything is in entropy, in decay, time is every slipping away.

This is the Meditation on the reality that we are ever dependent on God and need constant guidance that comes from the Divine. May our conscience, our heart and our soul be aligned to that Divine Guidance constantly. That is the Connection, the Salat.

This meditation tells me: Guide me God ever increasingly in my life. You're my constant light, so show me the Path. Please do not leave me to my self and its whims. I am a weak creation and have no strength and power except through You. So guide me God, now and always and forever and ever.

Literally means: The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.

Meditation: This is the Meditation of seeing truth and beauty; and being able to discriminate truth from falsehood. This Meditation tells our soul: I will align myself to light and shun darkness, in this world of plurality and duality, we constantly strive towards light, truth, beauty and perfection by following right examples, right knowledge and right wisdom.

This is the meditation of following the footstep of those who were Divinely Guided by the Beauteous Grace of the Amazing Lord.

This meditation tells me: Guide me in the Path of the Prophets and Messengers Whom You Chose exclusively to be guided through Your pure Grace. Not the path of those who made divisions after guidance, who went into ignorance after illumination, not the path of those who abuse Your way, not the path of those who went in extremes and lost their way.

This is the Meditation of perfect harmony and balance.

The soul prays to the Divine Lord: Please include me only among those Who were protected by Your Abundant Grace and Love.

And the Beloved (al-Wadud) replies: The Beloved Who is Ever Listening to Every Praise (sami allahuliman hamida), 'Enter you O fulfilled blissful soul, enter you among my servants, pleasing and well pleased.'
